New York, NY (August 11, 2015) – Cureatr, Inc. announces the appointment of a new board member, Dr. William Winkenwerder, Jr., MD as an independent member of the board of directors. Dr. Winkenwerder joins fellow board members Brandon Hull of Cardinal Partners, Alex Kristofcak of Deerfield Management, and Todd T. Pietri of Milestone Venture Partners. Cureatr founders Joseph Mayer, MD, and Alex Khomenko are also board members.
“Cureatr caught my attention because they built a unique solution on solid technology that is designed to meet critical needs for health plans and risk-bearing provider organizations that are managing a large or diverse population across the care continuum,” said Dr. Winkenwerder. “These high-growth areas are where I can be most helpful to the company and I am excited to join the board.”
Cureatr, launched in 2012, is a real-time Care Transition Notification™ (CTN) network paired with a mobile care coordination platform. Working with Dr. Winkenwerder, Cureatr will continue to expand its offerings to meet the needs of health plan and other at-risk organizations, as well as provider organizations transitioning into value-based care.
“I am pleased to welcome Dr. Winkenwerder to Cureatr’s board of directors,” said Dr. Mayer, Cureatr’s chief executive officer. “His knowledge and experience working with payer organizations will help Cureatr expand our focus and capabilities. His involvement with Cureatr demonstrates our commitment to understanding the nuanced needs of payers and how we can build our CTN networks and care coordination platform to support their long-term strategies. We admire and respect Dr. Winkenwerder’s experience in healthcare and insurance and are fortunate to have him on our team. We look forward to his support and leadership in the coming years.”
